6 & 7 Month Update

Over a month since I've blogged...so pitiful!  So much for doing a picture a week.  I just can't hang with the dedicated bloggers.  I also can't believe my precious girl is almost 7 months old.  Time is flying by and I feel like daily she seems older and older (funny how that works).  Exciting in some ways, but it also feels so sad because she feels less and less like a little baby.  I think she actually threw her first fit several days ago when I got her out of the bathtub.  I'm not sure I'm quite ready for another fit thrower.  It seems like we deal with lots of fits as it is.
Fit and all, she is still the sweetest, laid back, content, pleasant little gal.  She rolls with the punches, even if she's a tired, hungry, or out of her routine.  A true third child.
She wears size 4 diapers and size 9 month clothes.  I actually have been looking for some shorts for her and it has not been easy.  Girl has got some serious thighs.  I bought some 12 month shorts and they were tight on her thighs.  She still nurses 5, sometimes 6 times a day, and I gave her her first taste of rice cereal 2 days before she was 7 months old.  She was very unimpressed and never opened her mouth.  She goes to bed between 7 and 8 and generally sleeps until 7.  She still takes around 3 naps a day, with the longest being 3 hours if she has short morning naps.
She got her first tooth (bottom) on May 4th when she was 5 and 1/2 months and got her 2nd bottom tooth several days later.  I think she's working on her top teeth now.  She also started "school" with Elliott and Mason two half days a week the beginning of June.  It was a sad transition for me, but she has done great (except for the fact that she takes really short naps there).
She can now easily roll from her tummy to her back and her back to her tummy.  I actually think she does this better than either one of our other kids.  Makes me a little concerned that she might be an early mover.  Not really ready to run after a third.
Things she loves: sucking her three middle fingers, watching her crazy sister and brother, jumping in the bouncer, throwing toys off her high chair, being tickled, reaching for everything in sight, and baths.
Things she hates: getting laid on or poked in the face by her brother and getting her nose wiped.

The picture below is actually of Elliott at around the same age...you can definitely tell they're sisters. :)
Campbell Mae is well loved!  She brings such sweetness into our life.

5 Months Old

My sweet little girl is 5 months old (and a couple weeks...just a little bit behind).  I have said this so many times, but I can't get over how quickly days fly by when you have small kids.  Now sometimes the minutes seem long depending on everyone's moods, but the days fly.  This month was no different. This little girl is the epitome of sweet, and I don't think I'm too biased when I say that.  She is the most pleasant, good natured, happy little girl, and pretty much the only time she gets fussy is when she's tired and we're not at home and she doesn't have a good place to sleep.  One of the big things I have noticed this month is how much she LOVES to look at her big sister and brother.  They can always make her smile and she can watch them for a long time.  Thankfully, she's pretty tough because she gets lots of hard squeezes, pats, and snuggles and it never seems to phase her.
She is squeezing into 3-6 month clothes but probably would prefer to be in 6-9 month clothes and wears size 3 diapers.  She still nurses/takes a bottle 5 or 6 times a day.  She usually goes to bed around 7:30 (or sometimes later depending on activities), I dream feed her at 10, and then she sleeps until 7am. She still naps after every feeding and will typically nap 1hr-2.5hrs depending on the day.
We officially have a little finger sucker on our hands (no pun intended).  She usually sucks on her 2nd and 3rd or 2nd, 3rd, and 4th fingers.  Sometimes I give her her paci when I lay her down for a nap, but she promptly spits it out.  I've actually left the house WITHOUT a paci.  FREEDOM!!!  I've always loved the paci and don't regret giving them to my kids, but it's SO exhausting to keep up with them and ALWAYS have one available.  Now I very well realize we'll be fighting a different battle down the road, but for now, I'm loving it.  I think it helps her sleep better because it helps her self sooth and then we're not trying to sneak in and shove a paci in her mouth.
We finally drug the bouncer up from the basement and she LOVES it!  She also still loves the bumbo, and she still spends a fair amount of time in her bouncer, and now loves grabbing the toys hanging down.  She doesn't mind her car seat, but hasn't had a ton of long car rides.  She'll get to enjoy her first really long car ride this summer.  Fun times.
This month she really started grabbing things and loves to put everything in her mouth.  She's still fairly slow to grab things so I can still drink a cup of coffee while holding her, but I know the day is coming.  She loves putting things in her mouth, and pretty much chews on her hands all day long.  She can still just roll from her stomach to her back and is improving greatly in her sitting skills.  She is very ticklish under her neck, her armpits, and her tummy.  Pretty sure I tickle her DAILY so I can hear her little chuckle.
Words cannot describe how much I am LOVING time with my sweet little girl!  I am so thankful for her life and thankful to God for our precious gift!

A photo of each of my kids every week in 2014.

Oh Miss E, I just had to share one more style picture.  She LOVES these leggings.  Loves them.  And we have nothing that matches, so she improvises.  So many color combinations going on here.  Not to mention she hates posing for pictures, hence the face.
M LOVED getting to hang with the big kids and be out of the stroller at the zoo.  He has felt so much older this year...more like a little boy, less like a baby.
We officially have a thumb/finger sucker in our bunch.  First of the three.  I think I should probably fight it...but it's so stinking CUTE!

My mom captured this picture of E and it is SO fitting...headband not really holding her hair back (she has been obsessed with headbands lately), a princess shirt from last year that she pulled out of a box in a closet, and mismatched lime green plants.  This is her style.

I couldn't help but post the cute picture of her and my mom.  My parents took her on a date.  She got an umbrella and was SOOO excited!
This guy loves wrapping his arm around C's head.  Protective brother maybe?
I couldn't decide between these two pictures so I had to post them both.  Too cute.

We were blessed by a visit from Momo and Papa several weeks ago.  This is a random picture, but E's hair NEVER looks as good as when Momo's here.  My mom has a gift...and patience to deal with E's contrary spirit.
My dad had ENDLESS patience to play, read books, and do anything else the kids wanted to do.
C and I chilling in the bathroom while my mom bathed the big kids.  Can you say vacation for Kev and I??

These two...a girl with a style of her own and a doting little brother.  What more could you ask for?
They LOVE to play chase and thankfully we have the perfect circle in our house that they run laps around.  It makes my heart happy to see them play together.  I think it helps ease the pain of when they fight.
I had to include this one because his dimples are the BEST and I love E's bow in the back of her hair.  Obviously.
She is getting SO good at tummy time.  And could she get any cuter??  I think not.

We are always looking for something to do in the evening, which can sometimes be difficult since we have been stuck in the eternal winter.  Gag.  However, one night, at the suggestion of my friend Jen, we went on a scavenger hunt at the mall.  Ice cream was the "treat" at the end of the hunt.  So fun!
Mason really enjoyed his very first cone.
For some reason it feels like Campbell has gotten to wear more of Elliott's baby clothes recently.  Something about seeing her in E's old outfits melts my heart.
Bonus pic.  Miss E has been obsessed with headbands lately and it's pretty much the only way she wants to style her hair.  My little opinionated girl.
